This Medical Center offers a full range of services, including General Surgery, Women's Health, Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab, and more Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Manager of Nursing Education and Professional Development will oversee the clinical education department, including the nurse educators and ancillary staff.
This person will be responsible for ensuring state and federal compliance, updating policy procedures, evaluating goals, implementing quality improvement initiatives, developing strategic long term and short term growth plans for the department, researching best practices being used in the market, managing department budget, preparing all survey and accreditation material, assisting with the residency program, and oversee new-hire orientation and preceptor program.
The Manager of Nursing Education and Professional Development will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including the Unit Directors, physicians, system educators, and specialists, to develop educational initiatives, ensure best practices and techniques used are up to date, and integrate evidence-based practices and standards.
The Manager of Professional Development and Nursing Education will be responsible for overseeing the New Employee Orientation process, assessing employee educational needs and incorporating findings in the Annual House-wide Plan for Learning.
Additionally, the Manager of Nursing Education and Professional Development will also help to guide and facilitate the success of the RN Residency Program and providing leadership, coaching and mentorship to unit-specific Nursing Educators.
