Lead Medical Records Technician (Coder)

Run the daily coding assignments, distribute to the outpatient coders, and maintaining logs of what was distribute to the 10 coders. Compile the Coding Status Report to Management; collect completed assignments to be logged in for performance tracking; collect and maintain the input data log in collaboration with the Coding Supervisor. Selects the correct diagnosis and operation/procedure codes; provides technical assistance with processing and maintaining CPT codes within the Electronic Health Records as the codes are manually updated into the E.H.R System; abstracts the completed charts for both inpatient/Outpatient for compliance enforcement of all regulatory requirements. Assigns and sequences ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM/PS including CPT and HCPCS codes to final diagnoses and procedures from documented information; assures the final diagnoses and operative procedures as stated by the physician are valid and complete. Quantitative analysis - performs a comprehensive review of records to ensure the presence of all component parts such as patient and record identification, signatures of providers, dates and times where required To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, GS-0675-09:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
Examples include:
assign and ensure ICD-10 codes are correct for all diagnoses and surgical procedures; abstract data from patient record; ensure diagnosis related group (DRG) calculation is assigned is correct; use of automated health record systems and software; assign and abstract appropriate current procedural terminology (CPT) and Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) codes; assist and guide others with health record and coding tasks. The following certification is a requirement for this position. Applicants who do not meet this requirement are not qualified for this position. Certified coder recognized through the American Academy Professional Coders (AAPC) or American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements:
Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
