Assist the chief with development, implementation and evaluation of the pediatric dentistry program. Provide direct care in pediatric dentistry for all dental patients as required on demand and referral basis with the Area and from without on a limited basis. Diagnostic, treatment of pediatric and difficult management cases and institutionalized patients. Treatment in dental clinic and the OR, of both children and adults (handicapped). Diagnosis and pediatric treatment of congenital abnormalities of the oral cavity. Responsible for acknowledgement of pediatric related communications and reports. Incumbent may be called for services at other than routine clinic hours and may be occasionally called upon for dental duties. INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must meet the individual Occupational Requirements listed below to qualify for the position. Degree: Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from a school approved by the American Dental Association (ADA) and the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained -OR- I am within 9 months of graduating. Must provide transcripts or proof of pending graduation Licensure: Must passed the National Board Dental Examination (NBDE) which are developed and administered by the Joint Commission on National Dental Examination (JCNDE) AND posses a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Experience: Must have one or more full years of experience, equivalent to at lease the next lower grade level, performing professional dentistry work for GS-12 level. Qualifying experience involves the evaluation, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases, injuries, and disorders of the oral cavity and maxillofacial area. Examples of dentistry experience may include the removal of decay; filling cavities; straightening, extracting, and repairing teeth; treating gum diseases; performing corrective surgery; making measurements/models for dentures to replace missing teeth, administering anesthetics, writing prescriptions; and performing other requirements of the position. In addition to meeting the Individual Occupational Requirements, applicants must also meet the Minimum Qualification for the grade level listed below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, GS-0680-13: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Example include: comprehensive dental treatment to children under age 18, make clinical and radiographic examinations, diagnose pathological and irregular conditions, maintain patient records, perform endodontic, prosthodontic, operative and/or preventative orthodontic services, perform simple, compound, or complex restorations, administer local anesthesia and/or nitrous oxide; determine types of services required, develop treatment plans, perform tooth extractions, inform patient about preventative dental care. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements:

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
