Medical Records Administration Specialist

Supervising Inpatient and Outpatient Coding staff for productivity and accuracy; setting unit objectives and goals; monitoring patient data; ensuring staff compliance with Internal Control Policy and coding guidelines. Developing policies and procedures; developing appraisal standards; and producing reports for hospital staff. Establishing and evaluating performance measures of functional areas in the coding section. Participating on hospital committee for medical records, and electronic health records for documentation improvement. Conducting quarterly chart reviews; training the coding staff, and communicating with providers for documentation clarification. Serving as the alternate Privacy Act Liaison and assures the safeguard of protected health information. Acts on behalf off the Health Information Management Director when absent. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, GS-0669-11:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
Providing administrative oversight of operations for a medical record file room to include a wide range of advanced duties; establishing and monitoring complex automated and manual systems necessary for the delivery of an effective Health Information Management File Room department; and applying legal principles, policies, regulations, and standards for the control and use of medical records in providing third party information, admitting, treating, transferring, and discharge patients; OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduates education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related such education must be related to a medical records administration education programs; OR Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels for which both education and experience are acceptable. SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTORS Applicants must meet the following Selective Placement Factors in order to be considered for this position. You must provide proof of one these requirements with your application packet. Current and active Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT); OR Current and active Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA); OR Current and active Certified Coding Specialist (CCS); OR Current and active Certified Professional Coder (CPC). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements:
Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
